So You’re Sleep Deprived..

A few days ago I shared one aspect that may help reduce unwanted weight. That aspect was better quality sleep.

Now, me saying “hey you need more sleep” is probably the no duh of the century. Similar to telling someone having a full blown meltdown to simply calm down, yea that’s a non starter.

The reasons for a lack of quality sleep are as varied as the people who struggle with poor sleep habits.

For example- my daughter, since she was a wee babe has always woken up between 1-3 am. We’ve had breakthroughs here and there, but nothing lasting. The Lord showed me years ago that she was a “gut baby”, meaning, her insides are askew and not altogether in their original design. Particularly her liver being out of whack. Well guess what, the liver processes and dumps right between 1-3 am and if there’s some shenanigans there, sleep is not happening.

Now, what to do with information, I’ve not quite found the right answer… yet. For now, we apply “bandaids” as we find them.

The number of people who have sleep challenges in general is astounding- apparently 30% of the population suffers from poor sleep.

If that stat is accurate, then in this group, it stands to reasons 90 of you have low quality sleep. No bueno.

Some habits to consider to improve sleep, if you have not tried, that is.

  • Shut off electronics two hours before sleep.

  • If powering down is a no go, consider wearing blue light blocking glasses 2 hours before sleep.

  • Drink chamomile tea. Cliche? Maybe, but it works.

  • Use Lavender and Roman Chamomile essential oil in your diffuser. Don’t have those? We can help you with that.

  • Journal before bed. Journaling your thoughts out just before you doze off will help get the mental clutter out of your brain so that all you’re meditating on is sweet peace.

  • Consider a liver detox. This is something we’d all be wise to do twice a year.

On the Liver detox, I will be focusing on this in a few weeks as we are entering into a full moon called "Worm Moon". This is a beautiful time to detox from parasites, etc.
